I learned a great deal as I completed this quest. It's so easy for us as educators and students to just assume a site accessible is legitimate, but unfortunately that is not always the case.
Four of the sites I chose to highlight are listed below. They are reputable, informative, and give students as well as educators a FUN place to put together presentations, gather information, and even store information for later use.
http://www.powtoon.com/ - An incredibly fun yet practical way to create presentations with flair.
http://www.eduweb.com/ - Click on the "Portfolio" link to find interactive games that cover art, history, science, and technology. Way to make learning FUN!
http://www.readwritethink.org/ - A website chock full of free reading and language art tools to assist with quality instruction and preparation for educators, parents, as well as students.
https://delicious.com/ - An online bookmarking site that allows you to save important links and webpages to an easily accessible website. No more worrying about losing a reference tool because you bookmarked it on your home computer and you're at school and cannot readily access it. This site solves that problem in just a few clicks!
Always remember when using the internet to use caution, especially with sites that you are not familiar with. It's always a good idea to install a tool like "My Web of Trust" (www.mywot.com) in order to make sure you're not heading into dangerous internet waters.
Have fun and search safely! :)
